The Points Based System
From November 2008 the New Points Based System applies – this is the biggest shake up in Immigration Law for 45 years by the Home Office.
Who is effected?
Most visa applicants will be effected by the system as the previous methods of applying are changed. It also effects employers of non EU nationals who must now register with the UK Border Agency and apply for a Sponsor Licence. There will be serious consequences for employers who do not comply including both civil and criminal Sanctions.
Tier 1
Under the scheme an application can be made by a student to switch to the category of post study worker which will allow you to stay in the UK to work once you have completed your studies.
This Tier also applies to applications by Highly Skilled workers, entrepreneurs and investors and, again, our team is fully qualified and trained to help.
Tier 2
We can help with all applications under Tier 2. This effects skilled workers who have a job offer to fill gaps in the UK labour force and also applies to those who are self employed or setting up a business.
There are other Tiers which the Home Office plan to introduce in the future.
